Take a day off. From yourself. From your thoughts. From over-thinking. And breathe. Just breathe.
I was fortunate enough to capture some of these shots over the last few days, the one above, a local lake and favorite hide away spot. The two below were taken in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania.
While trekking thru these serene spots, i began to think how often these places and moments have I missed.
I just finished The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, and I was gazing thru the clouds and trees, listening to my breath in the silence intertwining with the speckles of bird calls, i began to remember when the merchant's son is sent to find the secret of happiness from the wisest of men...
The story goes like this...
How often do we get focused on something in our lives, a goal, a destination, and wind up missing the lesson, the journey, the beauty in each moment, along the way? The sights, the beauty around us all day, everyday. "I was working towards that promotion". "I was planning that trip". "I was busy wishing on airplanes and shooting stars".
Like John Lennon said: "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans".
Just. Stop. Look around and breathe... i mean it sounds easy enough, right?
To find balance in one's life, to work on what's important and taking in the beauty around us, well, that can take some serious practice, some serious work. Sometimes we need to slow down, or even stop, to realign where we are in life or on our mats. When i step on my yoga mat, when I'm working on a balance or holding a pose, sometimes i catch myself not breathing, and that's pretty important. It's a balance, of movement and breath. Silence and stillness. While life is buzzing around us. To not sweat the small stuff, and take in more of the good stuff around us. To cut out the bullshit and those that contribute to it. To find balance, IS happiness.
We are all works in progress, my hope is that we may all bloom to our full potential, to be our radiant selves, so that our light may brighten others.
A Blooming Yogini is someone on a journey to their authentic self, a union of mind, body and spirit to a more healthy, thriving , and vibrant you.
Live. Love. Bloom.
