Woo hoo my detox kit from Banyan Botanicals came today! I will start my ayurvedic detox sometime in the next two weeks.
Ayurveda is one of the world's oldest holistic (whole-body) healing systems. It developed thousands of years ago in India. It is based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit.
As we move our way into a slow wet spring (finally) I wanted to keep my dosha - your body's unique constitution- balanced and healthy and spring is a great time to detox, as well as in the fall.
My kit consists of a diet of kitchari (a dish of rice, legumes, and spices), Oil Pulling, Abhyanga (a daily warm oil massage), Detox Teas, and a Sinus Cleanse. Basically 7 days of being gentle and kind to your body. Sounds nice doesn't it?
“Be gentle first with yourself if you wish to be gentle with others.” -Lama Yeshe
You can take your Prakriti quiz here to see what your Ayurvedic Constitution is.
We are all works in progress, my hope is that we may all bloom to our full potential, to be our radiant selves, so that our light may brighten others.
A Blooming Yogini is someone on a journey to their authentic self, a union of mind, body and spirit to a more healthy, thriving , and vibrant you.
